This Thanksgiving weekend, the Titans will host the Jacksonville Jaguars at noon on Sunday. The Titans are currently on a six-game losing streak, but they are looking to end that this Sunday. The Jaguars have won three out of their last four games and are currently fighting for a Wild Card spot in the AFC. The Titans will be looking to pull off an upset against a division rival this weekend.
Titans Week Twelve Recap
In week 12, the Titans lost to the Seahawks 24-30. The game was not as close as the score indicates, as in the third quarter, the Seahawks led 23-3. A Chimere Dike 90-yard punt return touchdown sparked a small comeback from the Titans; however, ultimately, it was too little too late. The Titans struggled to cover Jaxon Smith-Njigba in this game as he exploded for 8 receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
Jaguars Season Recap
The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a solid 2025 season so far. The Jaguars sit at 7-4 and are currently in 6th place in the AFC. The NFL’s playoff predictor gives them a 69% chance to make the playoffs. The Jaguars are only one game behind the Colts in the AFC South and have two games remaining against them, so they also have a chance of winning the AFC South.
This Jaguars team is much improved from last season, when they went 4-13. Last offseason, Jacksonville brought in a new offensive-minded head coach in Liam Coen. Without many major roster changes, Coen has brought the team from 4-13 to 7-4.
Chimere Dike All-Purpose Yards
Chimere Dike currently has more all-purpose yards than any other player in the NFL. For anyone unfamiliar with the stat, all-purpose yards combine receiving, rushing, and return yards. Dike has 17 rushing yards, 252 receiving yards, and 1,491 return yards, which add up to 1,706 all-purpose yards this season. Dike is first in the NFL in this stat, followed by Christian McCaffery with 1,581 all-purpose yards and Johnathan Taylor with 1,465 all-purpose yards. This stat shows how impactful Dike has been in his rookie season. He made an immediate impact on special teams from week one and has slowly been getting more reps on offense, too.
Cam Ward’s Playmaking
Titans’ interim head coach, Mike McCoy, has encouraged Cam Ward to use his legs more on offense. Ward showed that ability on Sunday, using his legs to extend plays and pick up yards scrambling. On Sunday, Ward had a season high of 37 rushing yards to go along with his rushing touchdown. It may not sound like a lot of yards; however, the important thing is that we are seeing progression from Ward.
Ward had an incredible play late in the game where he scrambled outside the pocket, then, as he was about to be tackled, he found Restrepo for a big gain. Even though it did not result in a win, Titans fans have to be happy with the way that Cam Ward played last Sunday against a good Seattle Seahawks defense.
Titans Run Offense vs Jaguars Run Defense
The Jacksonville Jaguars have done a really good job this season of stopping the run. The Jaguars’ defense has only allowed 922 yards this season, which is the best in the NFL. This means that the Jaguars should have no problem this weekend stopping the Titans, who are currently last in the NFL in rushing offense. The Titans have only run for 853 yards this season, which is the lowest in the NFL. The Titans may recognize this mismatch early in the week and end up resorting to a pass-heavy offense. We will see how this mismatch plays out on Sunday, but I wouldn’t expect the Titans to have much success on the ground this weekend.
