The Seattle Seahawks received their Super Bowl LX championship rings during a private ceremony on Thursday.

The jewelry, which contains 50 brilliant round white diamonds as a nod to 2025 being the Seahawks' 50th NFL season, was designed and manufactured by Jason of Beverly Hills.

It also features a pair of Lombardi trophies, with Seattle posting a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII as well the Seahawks' 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, Calif. The trophies and team logo are surrounded by blue sapphires.

"The Super Bowl LX championship ring will forever represent our historic 50th season and the dedication and determination of our entire franchise," Seahawks president Chuck Arnold told the team website.

"We are deeply grateful to Jason of Beverly Hills for bringing our vision to life. The stories told in the ring's design perfectly capture the significance of an unforgettable season and the unwavering support of our fans."

On one side of the ring is the player's last name, jersey number and team mantra ("M.O.B."), while the other side features "12 AS ONE." The number 12 is an homage to the team's fanbase.

Engraved inside the ring is "17 WINS," a nod to the total from the regular season (14) and playoffs (three).

The top of the ring can be removed from the base, allowing it to be worn from a chain or necklace.

The ring also features a 12 Flag button that, when pressed, releases the Lumen Field arches that sit on either side of the centerpiece. The words "WORLD CHAMPIONS" then become visible.

Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper was arrested Thursday on multiple charges that he violated a protection order filed against him earlier this week.

Cooper initially was arrested and jailed in Douglas County (Colo.) early last Friday on misdemeanor domestic violence charges before being released later that morning. A felony charge for second-degree assault by strangulation and an additional misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault stemming from that incident were announced in court on Wednesday, according to ESPN, citing court records.

On Thursday, he was charged with harassment from repeated phone calls as well as violation of a protection order. He was held overnight at the Douglas County Jail awaiting a scheduled court hearing Friday.

"We are disappointed to learn of Jonathon Cooper's arrest on Thursday and continue to review this matter," the Broncos said in a statement Friday morning.

Parker Police responded to a call and arrested Cooper at 11:16 p.m. on June 4. He was released from Douglas County Jail the following day on a personal recognizance bond.

Arrest records from June 4 indicate Cooper and his girlfriend were involved in a disagreement over allegations of infidelity. In separate signed affidavits, the parties gave much different accounts of the events that caused the argument to escalate.

A pre-trial hearing was set for July 6 during Cooper's court appearance on Monday. A trial date of July 22 falls within a week of the likely start of Denver's training camp.

The NFL is aware of the charges and is monitoring the situation.

"I think the league has done a good job of kind of coming in and really taking over that responsibility," Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Thursday, when asked if the NFL will be involved.

"We had a long visit with ‘Coop', and now the process plays out. The league obviously will be very much involved in that. We'll stay abreast, but much like you all. I think that's where it's at. We just go from there."

Cooper, 28, has started every game in each of the past three seasons for Denver and has played in 81 games (65 starts) since the Broncos drafted him in the seventh round in 2021.

Cooper recorded eight sacks, 50 tackles and 16 quarterback hits last season. He has 31.5 sacks, 63 QB hits, 266 tackles, three fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown), two forced fumbles and one interception.

He signed a four-year, $60 million extension in November 2024.

An NFL investigation into Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt did not turn up enough evidence to warrant league discipline, NFL Network reported Friday.

Merritt was arrested on April 23 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery in a case involving a daughter. He entered a not guilty plea.

The coach initially was accused of "unlawfully, knowingly or recklessly" causing bodily harm to a daughter, whose age has not been confirmed.

The charges were dismissed without prejudice in a Kansas court in May.

"The DA's office looked at it a little more thoroughly and reviewed some additional information and agreed it was a matter that should be dismissed," Merritt's attorney, Ryan Ginie, told NFL Network after the charges were dismissed.

The NFL's investigation looked into whether Merritt, 54, violated the league's personal conduct policy.

Merritt had a brief NFL playing career in the mid-1990s before entering the coaching profession in 1997. He was hired by the Chiefs in 2019. One of his previous coaching stops was with the New York Giants (2004-17).

Between the Giants and the Chiefs, Merritt has been a part of five Super Bowl-winning teams.

Former NFL linebacker Darron Lee has been indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in the case of his girlfriend's death earlier this year.

A grand jury returned the indictment on Tuesday, USA Today and others reported. Hamilton County (Tenn.) District Attorney Coty Wamp told local outlet WTVC that prosecutors dismissed a charge of tampering with evidence and "will focus solely on the murder."

Wamp also said that the death penalty is still under consideration for Lee, with a pending decision in the coming weeks.

At a preliminary hearing in March, prosecutors presented evidence that included Lee's ChatGPT logs. Those showed he had asked the AI chatbot how to deal with an unresponsive person, as well as what injuries would be consistent with someone falling in the shower.

The victim, 29-year-old Gabriella Perpetuo, was found by first responders on Feb. 5 at the couple's rental home in the small town of Ooltewah, Tenn., about 20 minutes from Lee's hometown of Chattanooga.

Paramedics had arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Lee was identified as a suspect and taken into custody.

Detective Brian Lockhart gave testimony that the victim sustained "severe injuries, including severe brain trauma, a broken neck, bruising across her body, a large bite mark on her shoulder and thigh, stab wounds to her legs and significant facial trauma."

Lee told investigators that Perpetuo had narcolepsy and likely fell in the shower. Lockhart described a different scene.

"There was blood going up the staircase, on the hand railing there was blood, on the walls there was blood, on the floor in the living room there was blood, in the floor on the hallway and the stairs ... there was blood in just about every room except one," Lockhart testified.

Lee previously faced legal issues in 2023, when he was charged in three assaults involving his mother, the mother of his child and another man. He also was charged with a felony drug possession charge when he failed to show up for his court date related to that case later in the year. He pleaded guilty to two lesser counts in 2025.

Lee, 31, was part of the Ohio State team that won the 2014 national championship before he was selected 20th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.

Lee played parts of five seasons with the Jets (2016-18), Kansas City Chiefs (2019) and Buffalo Bills (2020).

Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was denied parole on Thursday for his role in a fiery drunken-driving crash that killed a woman in Las Vegas in 2021.

Ruggs, 27, was sentenced to three to 10 years in a Nevada state prison in August 2023 after agreeing to a plea deal in death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor.

He was speeding at more than 150 mph when he collided with her car and tests revealed a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, according to police reports.

"Mr. Ruggs, and our office, continue to feel the grief and loss suffered by Ms. Tintor's family," Ruggs' attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in a statement on Thursday, adding that they were disappointed by the parole board's decision to deny parole.

Ruggs will be eligible to appear again before the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners three months before his mandatory parole release date on Aug. 24, 2027, according to ESPN.

During Ruggs' appearance before the board last month, he said he accepted full responsibility for his actions.

"Not a minute goes by where I don't think of the pain I caused her family, her friends and the Las Vegas community. I'm a religious person, and I pray for her family daily," Ruggs said.

Chesnoff asked the board to set aside his client's celebrity as an NFL player.

"Sometimes being high-profile makes it more of a burden," Chesnoff said. "And I would most respectfully ask everybody to treat Henry the way they would anybody that comes before them, except for the fact that I think he's tried to do as much as humanly possible to send a message that his behavior was unacceptable."

The Raiders released Ruggs one day after the November 2021 crash. He had 50 catches for 921 yards and four touchdowns in 20 games (19 starts) after being selected No. 12 overall in the 2020 draft.

Cleveland Browns starting safety Ronnie Hickman signed his restricted free agent tender on Thursday.

Contract terms were not announced. Multiple reports said Hickman, 24, will earn $5.8 million in 2026 and become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The April 17 deadline had passed for restricted free agents to sign with another team, which would have returned a second-round draft pick to the Browns if they didn't match the offer.

Hickman started all 17 games for Cleveland last season and set career highs with 103 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defensed. He played 99% of the defensive snaps (1,039) and 32% of special teams snaps (145).

For his career, he has 173 tackles, three interceptions -- one returned for a touchdown -- and 11 passes defended in 41 regular-season games (26 starts) since signing as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State in May 2023.

Sean Payton agreed to terms Thursday on a new five-year contract with the Denver Broncos that spans through the 2030 season.

The deal replaces the final two years Payton, 62, had remaining on his existing deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Sean Payton has led an impressive turnaround over the past three seasons, instilling a winning culture with high expectations," Broncos owner Greg Penner said in a news release. "I appreciate the close partnership he shares with (general manager) George Paton, along with the alignment and stability across our football operations.

"We're thrilled for Sean to continue leading our team as head coach, building on our progress during such an exciting time for the Broncos."

Payton guided the Broncos to a 14-3 record and an appearance in the AFC Championship Game last season. He is 32-19 during his three seasons at the helm in Denver.

The Broncos acquired Payton from the New Orleans Saints in 2023. Denver traded a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and a second-round selection in 2024 to New Orleans. The Broncos received a third-round pick in 2024 to complete that deal.

The new five-year contract links Payton and Paton through the 2030 season. Paton, who signed his deal in May, joined Denver as the GM in 2021 after 14 seasons in the Minnesota Vikings' front office (2007-20).

Payton spent 15 seasons as the head coach of the Saints (2006-11, 2013-21), highlighted by a Super Bowl XLIV title during the 2009 season. He also was named the NFL Coach of the Year in 2006.

Payton owns a 184-108 record as the head coach of the Saints and Broncos. His win total is second only to Kansas City's Andy Reid (279) among active NFL coaches.
