B6B: MOVIE REVIEW: Uncut Gems

B6B: MOVIE REVIEW: Uncut Gems

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 8, 2020) After watching Uncut Gems, I came to a pretty drastic realization and decision. I think I’m done watching Safdie Brothers movies. The last two I’ve seen, Good Time and Uncut Gems, have left me in such a negative mood, because the films are flat out abrasive as…more

B6B: Big 6 Takeaways from Tennessee vs. Indiana (Gator Bowl)

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 2, 2019) See, this is why you don’t gamble. Vegas had this game Tennessee -1.5. How they decide their lines is quite the science, but for crying out loud, I’d be crying out loud, because I was sure the Vols would make this much easier on themselves than they…more

A Decade in Review: Tennessee Volunteers Football

A Decade in Review: Tennessee Volunteers Football

It was a decade full of misery on Ole Rocky Top, broken up only by a few bowl wins and 5-star recruits committing to play for the Big Orange. As Vols fans know, this decade was defined by coaching malpractice, which was capped off by the Greg Schiano fiasco in 2017, which we’ll talk about more a little later. I think they’ve settled in a place with Jeremy Pruitt that at least got them out of the basement of the SEC, but a decade of mismanagement takes a while to undo.more

A Decade in Review: Tennessee Titans

A Decade in Review: Tennessee Titans

The best quarterback season in terms of yards for the Titans came in 2011 when Matt Hasselbeck threw for 3,571 yards. We’ll look at each individual season here in a second, but I think it’s a pretty accurate depiction of the Titans’ 2010s overall that Matt Hasselbeck was the single-season yards leader for the last decade. No disrespect to Hasselbeck, of course, but the revolving door at the QB spot has been an issue for this franchise since Steve McNair left for Baltimore, and it’s why fans are so enamored with Ryan Tannehill’s consistent play this season.

But that’s looking ahead. Today we’re looking back to the last 10 years of Titans’ football and what it was like being a Titans’ fan in the 2010s.more

B6B: TV REVIEW: The Mandalorian Season 1 Finale

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – December 27, 2019) With every step Jon Favreau takes with The Mandalorian, it’s so much easier to understand why The Rise of Skywalker was so underwhelming. There’s a school of thought, not inaccurate, that Star Wars is often held to a higher standard than many other properties, but here’s the…more

B6B: Big 6 Takeaways from Titans vs. Saints

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – December 22, 2019) The Titans did actually lose on Sunday, in a game that prior to the season everyone likely expected them to lose, and even this week a lot of us did. It was a loss, but how big a loss? Because of the way everything has played out,…more

JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 19, 2019) Whatever might be ailing you, all you have to remember and tell yourself is, “At least I’m not Jack Hoskins.” All the alcohol in the world doesn’t even appear to phase whatever various stab wounds the invisible man created in the back of his neck.” He’s in pain…

B6B: Big 6 Takeaways from Titans vs. Chiefs (AFC Championship)

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 19, 2020) It was quite a ride, one that ended one stop short of Miami and the Super Bowl. Oh so close, but the future looks like it might be bright, even though there is work to be done in the offseason, especially in the front office. But, although…

B6B: TV REVIEW: The Outsider – Episode 2

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 19, 2020) So… Terry Maitland didn’t do it after all, I guess. I got that part right, but went a little too far with reading into things, which can happen in a series opener. The end of the first episode turned out to mean basically nothing at all, which…

B6B: TV REVIEW: The Outsider – Episode 1

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 15, 2020) Sometimes, I’m not sure whether a series is going to find the right niche for a weekly cover, because as much as sometimes I WANT to cover something, the audience isn’t there for it, so I then just say something like, “Lodge 49 is such a good…

B6B: Big 6 Takeaways from Titans vs. Ravens (AFC Divisional Playoff)

By JASON MARTIN (@JMartZone – January 11, 2019) At this stage, there’s not much that hasn’t been said that’s been proven either wrong or prophetic, but what we saw on Saturday night in Baltimore against the top seeded Ravens may well go down as one of the most improbable wins in the postseason in a…

Divisional Round Primer: Ravens vs. Titans

Divisional Round Primer: Ravens vs. Titans

You’re welcome, football world.

The big, bad Patriots are now planning their offseason vacations rather than another Super Bowl parade, and it’s all thanks to the organization that has built itself as “Patriots South.” Mike Vrabel and Company went into Foxborough, stared down his former coach and the greatest quarterback of all time, and never flinched. But if beating the Patriots was like taking down Goliath, the Titans now have to face Thanos.
