"Titans Waive Five Players to Reach 75"

The Titans waived five players on Tuesday in order to reach the 75 man roster limit. Kicker/Punter Ricky Schmitt, receiver Bobby Sewall and cornerback Pete Ittersagen were released by the team after practice Tuesday. Linebacker Mike Rivera and defensive lineman Kareem Brown were waived injured.

"Police Investigating MT Star QB Dwight Dasher"

The player that set Middle Tennessee's football team apart from the rest of the Sun Belt Conference now has his future in jeopardy. Middle Tennessee State University officials and MTSU campus police have an ongoing investigating involving Blue Raider quarterback Dwight Dasher over allegations he failed to pay back a large amount of money from a 80-year-old VA Hospital patient.

"Stafon Johnson Begins Another Recovery Process"

Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said rookie running back Stafon Johnson had successful surgery to repair his dislocated right ankle. Johnson suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason game in Seattle. The injury came on Johnson's first night as a pro, marking a remarkable return from a college weightlifting injury that ended his final season at Southern Cal.

With rookie Derrick Morgan sidelined and William Hayes on the mend with a sprained MCL the Titans entered Wednesday's practice session thin at defensive end. Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said Hayes' injury, which occurred during Tuesday's practice, could have been much worse.

The Titans added fullback Jed Collins to the roster Friday to complete the 80-man training camp limit. Collins has bounced around the league since he signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Since his time with the Eagles Collins has spent time with five other teams over the past two seasons prior to signing with Tennessee.

Derrick Morgan's first training camp practice ended prematurely due to a left calf injury. Morgan first hurt his calf during OTA workouts in June and Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher says Morgan will be evaluated further Monday before the team takes the field for another 3:30p practice.

"Mariani Grabs Attention at Practice Sunday"

Rookie wide receiver Marc Mariani made a diving highlight reel catch during the second practice of training camp at Baptist Sports Park Sunday afternoon. The seventh round choice from Montana extended for a forty-yard pass and catch down the left sideline from quarterback Chris Simms during seven on seven drills. Mariani continued to perform during team sessions, grabbing several passes in the middle of the defense. Mariani said his focus must remain constant on a daily basis.

"Bulluck Signs With Giants, Glad To Return Home"

Free agent Linebacker Keith Bulluck has signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the New York Giants after spending 10 seasons with the Titans. Bulluck, who underwent ACL surgery seven months ago, worked out for New York last week. He reportedly also had a offer on the table from the Arizona Cardinals but chose to return to the state where he lived throughout his childhood and college years.

Single-game tickets to all 10 Titans home games at LP Field will go on sale Saturday, July 31 at 10 a.m. (CDT). Approximately 3,000 tickets for each game will be made available to the public. Fans can purchase a maximum of up to four tickets per game for as many as two games.

"MTSU Pitcher Edwards Signs With Evansville"

Chad Edwards has signed a contract to play with the Evansville Otters in Evansville, Ind. The Paducah, Ky., native, helped guide the Blue Raider pitching staff throughout the 2010 season posting an 8-2 record with a 4.21 ERA and three complete games. Two of Edward's complete games were shutouts including one to keep Middle Tennessee's season alive.

Titans rookie defensive end Derrick Morgan was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license. Gordon County police said Morgan was driving 91 mph in a 70 mph speed limit zone when he was pulled over by Resaca police around 5:00p.

Titans wide receiver Nate Washington suffered a sprained left wrist during Thursday’s OTA session. Washington and cornerback Jason McCourty fell to the turf on a deep pass from quarterback Vince Young. Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said he did not anticipate any setbacks for Washington.

Linebacker Stephen Tulloch signed his one-year tender Monday morning and is under contract for the 2010 season. Tulloch will be paid $2.521 million in base salary. The starter at middle linebacker waited up until Tuesday's June 15 deadline to sign the offer sheet, but it's unclear if he has made plans to join his teammates for Organized Team Activities.

Titans quarterback Vince Young apologized Monday afternoon for any distractions he may have caused the team due to a Sunday morning assault at a Dallas strip club. ''Just made a mistake,'' Young said.
