TSSAA Football Playoff Brackets

Tune In To The TSSAA Football Playoff Selection Show -- Saturday, Oct. 31 From 7-9amThe brackets for the 2009 TSSAA football playoffs were released Saturday during a live two hour broadcast on 104-5 The Zone.

The Road to the BlueCross Bowl presented by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office featured TSSAA Executive Director Bernard Childress, Assistant Executive Director Matthew Gillespie, plus head coaches from across the state.

The first and second place teams of each district in each classification are automatic qualifiers for the playoffs. In each district, half the number of teams in each class will be playoff-eligible. The remainder of the field will be chosen by wild cards, making a total of 32 teams per classification headed for postseason play.

NEW TSSAA FOOTBALL PLAYOFF FORMAT

In addition to the new location of Tucker Stadium on the campus of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, one change that fans will notice this year is the schedule for the eight BlueCross Bowl championship games.

All eight games will be played over three consecutive days.

 

DIVISION II SCHEDULE:

Thursday, Dec. 3

(All times Central Standard Time)

3:30 p.m. - Class A Championship

7 p.m. - Class AA Championship

DIVISION I SCHEDULE:

Friday, Dec. 4

(All times Central Standard Time)

Noon - 1A Championship

3:30 p.m. - 3A Championship

7 p.m. - 5A Championship

Saturday, Dec. 5

(All times Central Standard Time)

Noon - 2A Championship

3:30 p.m. - 4A Championship

7 p.m. - 6A Championship

TICKETS:
$12 for general admission and good for admission to all games played on day purchased.
