Learn More About 104-5 The Zone's Mickey Ryan
The phrase most commonly used to describe Mickey Ryan is ''He ain't right''. Mickey discovered his love of sports talk while doing a running commentary for fellow bench warmers during his own high school basketball games.
''I actually enjoyed talking about the game so much, I was almost disappointed when the Coach put me in'' says Ryan.
While in college, Mickey did play-by-play and color commentary for local high school teams, and upon graduation started his Television career at KAIT in Jonesboro, AR. While there, Mickey worked as a news reporter and as the #3 sports guy in a two man department. From there, Mickey moved to Bowling Green Kentucky, and a stint in TV sports at WBKO. He also developed a strong bond with the immortal Big Red while in Red Towel Country.
''A first class guy, er uh, person, I mean, uh, thing. Big Red always gives 110% and takes it one game at a time'' says Ryan when describing the Large Red Spirit Character.
For the last 11 years, Mickey has called Music City Home. An avid musician, Mickey has written 100s of songs and played all over the United States and in Europe. Mickey has done several local and regional commercials and been featured on HGTV. Hes also been fortunate enough to work for Fox 17 as well as currently doing freelance Sports for WSMV Channel 4and Co-Hosting Overtime on The Zone.
''Doing Overtime is the most fun Ive ever had working,'' says Ryan.
